
DIVING MAP OF FERNANDO DE NORONHA
To dive in Noronha is an unforgettable experience. Counting on hot waters the year long, 26°C in average, visibility of 25 the 40 meters and a rich, abundant and varied fauna. Fernando de Noronha is considered for many, the best diving point in Brazil, divings existing for all the types of tastes and levels of certification. Three structuralized operators exist in Fernando de Noronha, they supply equipment rent and experienced guides to the diverse site.
The archipelago of Noronha is divided in two parts: the inside sea, toward the continent, and the outside sea, toward the side of the ocean. In the Sea of Inside, the best points are: Sunken Rocks Dois Irmãos, Head of sapata, Cave of sapata. On the other side the best ponts are Luais, Pedra seca, Frade, Atalaia and Submarine Head. Because of the winds, from April to December it is better to dive in the side of the main island of Fernando de Noronha directed toward the west (Sea of Inside). From December to March the east is better (Sea of Outside).
In the Sunken Rocks Dois Irmãos, next to the unmistakable mounts Dois Irmãos, the dive is about 25 meters, made up of sand and rocks, rich in sponges and much sea life. Common in the place are rays, wrasses and reef sharks. The Cave of sapata is approximately 25 meters of depth, forming an enormous hall with a few rays. The wall of sapata is a rock thick wall that goes to 42 meters of depth, where can be sighted many fish.
Pedra Seca are identified by rocks that arise to the surface of the sea. With depth of about 17 meters, it is indicated for practical of photo-sub and the video, due to clearness of the water and the rocky formations of the deep one, that they form corridors, arcs and grottos. The amount of fish and marine animals are impressive.
In Luaias, a submerged reef at 22 meters, makes the joy of the divers. Atalaia, in the low tide, forms a natural swimming pool with about a meter of depth where the practise of snorkelling is possible. In these lagoons you can spot some clams , varied fish and young sharks.
To complete the scene, the shipwrecks, and Noronha has some. Most famous, the corvette V17 Ipiranga, of the Brazilian Navy, sunk in 1983, shortly after the submerged rocks next to the rock of the Low shoe. The boat rests perfectly in foot, balanced on the keel, at 62 meters of depth. In excellent state of conservation, it is one of the most famous shipwrecks of the country. Due to great depth, this diving can be practised by people with advanced certificate and EANx (Nitrox).
Others options of shipwreck in Fernando de Noronha are the Ship do Leão, been shipwrecked in the decade of 30, being at 8 meters of depth, in a place with much submarine life, and the Ship do Porto, boat Greek who also sank in the decade of 30. This last one in Noronha, can be reached swiming leaving the beach of the port. Due to little depth of the place, it even can be visited by divers with snorkell. Next to the wreck it is possible to find the remaining portions of a tractor that sank two decades ago during the construction of the port.
